Ethiopia has the phenomenon of cross border illegal migration
which is mainly prompted by rural push than the urban pull reasons. This would disturb the balanced distribution of population between the urban and rural areas.
Majority of these migrants are encountering several challenges at the
initial period of adjustment and even while travelling during night times
through forest and coastal areas. While negative side of the illegal migration
is not only leading to moral decline
but also remaining as a burden on the family. They are often subjected
to rejection by their families and the community as they failed to meet
expectations, only to return with adequate material wealth.
